February 2012
It's already February and we have been blessed with a very mild winter (knock on wood). Great news for schools, but perhaps not so great news for those students who would like to get in some additional skiing or sledding. :) We are excited about beginning the month with our favorite week of the school year... Catholic Schools Week! Please check our calendar for a complete list of daily activities. This year the theme is Faith-Academics-Service. As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, we are reminded of the strong familial atmosphere we take pride in each and every day. I was just telling my husband the other day that there are often times I could literally burst with an overwhelming feeling of pride when I watch our students laugh, play and learn. I want to thank all of our parents for the sacrifices you make that allows your children to attend Holy Family. As both girls and boys basketball has come to an end, I want to thank the students for the spirit and sportsmanship. You represented Holy Family School well. Many thanks to the mom's and dad's who graciously and selflessly volunteered their time to coach. Your leadership will make a lasting impression on our student athletes. Good luck to our volleyball teams as they have kicked off their season. We are still in need of a track coach for the upcoming spring season. We have many great runners and throwers who are looking for your guidance and assistance. Please contact me if this is something you are able to do. Mark your calendar for our annual Trivia Night set for Saturday, March 17. We will also be hosting a corned beef and cabbage dinner for our trivia participants. As you may of may not know Holy Family School is celebrating it's 50th year here, on Alice Avenue. We are planning a celebration to take place in April. Details will be sent as soon as the event is confirmed. Happy Birthday to our building! As always, I want to thank all of our parent volunteers who make our school a true community of students, staff, and parents. Thank you for volunteering for our various events throughout the school year! You will be a tremendous help is making our events run smoothly.
